The Two Spot Goby (Signigobius biocellatus) is a peaceful and reef-safe species, instantly recognizable by the distinctive eye-like spots on its dorsal fins. Known for its sand-sifting behavior, it helps maintain a clean substrate while its perch-and-watch personality adds constant charm and activity to the lower areas of the aquarium.
Keep in a well-established tank with fine sand for sifting and plenty of hiding spots among live rock. A tight-fitting lid is essential, as gobies are prone to jumping. Best kept singly or as a bonded pair, they should not be housed with aggressive or overly dominant tank mates.
Their diet should consist of a variety of small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, copepods, and enriched brine, supplemented with high-quality pellets to ensure health, energy, and long-term vitality.
