The Indian Mimic Tang (Acanthurus tritis) is a beautiful algae‑grazing surgeonfish that brings movement and color to reef aquariums. Known for constant browsing, it assists with algae control and thrives in mature systems.

A 125‑gallon or larger aquarium is recommended (70+ gallons for smaller species like Tomini), with strong flow and long swimming runs. Keep one tang per tank unless housed in very large systems and introduced together.

Offer abundant marine‑based seaweed and algae (nori/spirulina) alongside herbivore preparations; supplement with mysis or krill. Regular algae feedings support immunity, reduce aggression, and keep colors vibrant.
