Description
The Canarytop Wrasse (Halichoeres leucoxanthus) is an active and curious species, often seen patrolling rockwork in search of pests, small invertebrates, and leftover food. A lively addition to reef aquariums, it provides natural pest control while adding vibrant movement and color.
Ensure a secure, covered aquarium, as wrasses are notorious jumpers. A soft sandy substrate is recommended since many wrasses, including the Canarytop, will bury themselves at night for safety. They are generally reef-safe with caution and can coexist with a wide range of peaceful to semi-aggressive tank mates.
Their diet should be protein-rich, including mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and high-quality pellets to maintain health and vibrant coloration.
The Canarytop Wrasse is available now at Ocean in a Box, offered at the best price for your reef aquarium.
